The Ingenuity And Resourcefulness of Filipino Soldiers Just Made It’s Countrymen Proud
War is the most unwanted and feared event that could happen in any place. Last May 23, 2017, the Philippines was reportedly fighting against local terrorist groups who later turned out to be related to ISIS. ISIS has already managed to spread terror attacks in different countries all over the world. And unfortunately, Philippines just became one of its targets. It has been 18 days since the war erupted in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. The Philippine soldiers are sacrificing their lives in order to save the future of their country and its people.
It is a difficult battle for the soldiers because the rebel group or the terrorists are using high-powered guns and they appear to have a good number of ammunition supplies. As of the writing there are already more than 50 fallen soldiers who died defending the country. With the presence of RPG from terrorist fighters targeting military tanks, it was difficult for the soldiers to fight back. Most of the soldiers die while inside the tank due to the impact caused by the explosion. Tanks are easier target because of its size. With this in mind, the Filipino soldiers were able to come up with a great idea on how to counter this problem.
In order to minimize the impact, the soldiers then put wood logs covering their tanks. The wood will help to lessen the impact of RPG explosion. Bullets will just stay on the thick wood without fully penetrating on the external surface of the vehicle. Truly Filipinos are very resourceful in any situation even during war.
Some are even considering of taking into account the possible innovation of battle tanks to adopt the idea. Although it may appeared simple and old-school, it was effective and it did serve its purpose. It is also a proof that although the Philippines does not have enough and latest military artilleries, Filipinos are still blessed to have brave and resourceful soldiers that are ready to die for the country.
