Does Make-Up Affect a Person’s Self Esteem?

Make-up or any forms of cosmetics were designed to enhance a person’s beauty and to work on the side of imperfections, therefore it concerns or involves the person’s physical appearance. Relatively first impression lasts. It is your physical appearance that makes a person desired whether to approach you or not. It is actually the reality that we have together with the set of norms and standards that the society has embodied to the people.
Nobody wants to be left behind and nobody wants to feel unwanted. This is actually how people were conditioned about with the norms of the society. Most of the women turn to cosmetics and make-up because they are convinced that this could help them correct their aesthetic imperfections. It can also enhance their good traits and make it more appealing. The bottom line is to achieve a more desirable and pleasing appearance.
But how does the use of make-up affects your self-esteem? There are a number of women who became really dependent to make-up; it is as if they could not go out of their house without putting it unto their faces. There are even some instances when the before and after the use of make-up is no longer recognizable. People would even term it as make-up transformation. It is indeed correct because once it has been used, the entire appearance of the person changes. According to most women it boosts their confidence and it hides their imperfections making them feel really good about themselves.
Make-up can indeed make a person look beautiful and even feel good about because of it. However it does not come in all good points, it also has disadvantages that sometimes women tend to ignore. The dependence to make up is one of the great dilemmas.
There is no harm in using make-ups, as long as it does not consume your inner regard of yourself. But once a person feels ugly and unpleasant without it, that’s the time that you can say that it has done more harm than good in your self esteem.

The idea of using power banks has created a major excitement for all users of mobile devices. The release of power banks in the market was indeed a hit, no wonder several counterfeits or fake power banks were also released. Those who are making cheap and fake power banks saw the opportunity when people were truly satisfied and convinced with the use of power banks. But is it really safe to use such products?     Fake and unbranded power banks are usually seen being sold in online shops through Facebook, Instagram and other social media sites. It is because most of the people nowadays spend much of their time browsing these sites and chances of getting their attention is really high. The fake power banks even come in very cute and unique designs. Some were even designed like famous characters such as Hello Kitty, Baymax, The Minions and so much more. With a low price and a very cute design, how can someone resist not to buy? However you should never get fooled with the cuteness of these items because it can potentially destroy your device rather than extend its battery life.      So how can it actually destroy your device when it is intended to recharge your batteries? These products were made from substandard materials. Thus, its quality and performance is questionable. Since these products did not undergo a quality control procedure, there is no assurance that it will perfectly work. It might work on the first few times you use it but it can potentially damage your batteries, worse it can even trigger your batteries to overheat and explode. The cheap ones also come with cheap printed circuit board (PCB) which does not give any guarantee that the device will work properly.      Regular and branded power banks are definitely costly and not everyone can afford it, but with a much lower price people often disregard the price and would still eventually go after the substandard ones without thinking that this can actually damage their devices and end up spending more money for repair. Some are attracted because of the cute design and packaging because the regular ones usually come in boring styles, its either square or rectangle only. However the reason why the branded ones appear to be boring in terms of design because the manufacturers are maximizing the most efficient design that can hold all the essential pieces altogether.
Indeed dogs can be your 24/7 companion. They are always available for you and just for you only. There are three things that dogs love. First of course you as its human best friend, be happy because you are on the top of the list. Second, dogs love to play. It is up to you to define how our dogs play, some would enjoy and settle for short walks in the streets or somewhere where he can enjoy his eyes of things he find interesting. Lastly, dogs love to eat!  However although you wanted to share everything to your lovely pet, there are some restrictions that you need to follow in giving your dog some treats.      There are only few people who are not fond of chocolates. In fact almost all would get excited about it. Chocolates come in cakes, drinks, ice-creams and many more. But do you know that your most favorite flavor is actually bad for your dog? You could be torn on which is which, but as long as you will not share your chocolate with your dog, everything will be fine.          So what’s inside this chocolate that it can be bad for dogs yet humans love it so much? Chocolate is extracted from the cocoa fruit. Chocolates contain a certain compound called “Theobromine” which is actually a type of alkaloid. It is somewhat the same with caffeine, both are classified as stimulants. The problem occurs due to the inability of dogs to break this compound. Dogs don’t have the enzyme to metabolize Theobromine thus it stays within the dogs system and becomes toxic. Since it is considered as a stimulant, it affects the central nervous system (CNS) of your dog, causing increase in the level of blood pressure. This will then result to rapid heart rate, seizure, and vomiting, frequent urination, muscle twitching, hyperactive behavior, dehydration and many more. With all of these complications it can certainly put the dog into a fatal condition. In more of common terms, people would say that dogs are allergic to chocolates, dogs are not allergic to chocolates but chocolates are bad for them because there is no way for them to metabolize it.      Moreover the amount of chocolates that can cause those complications mentioned above will actually depend on the size of your dog. Larger dogs may have a much higher tolerance with the toxicity of the compound. Meanwhile the small ones may are more likely to react even in small amount of chocolates. Before thinking of giving your dog some of your favorite sweets, think a thousand times before doing so. You are risking your dog’s life because of your inappropriate thoughts.
The Pasig River or also known in Filipino as the Ilog Pasig is a river that serves as a connection to the Manila Bay and the Laguna Bay. It stretches up to 25 km (15.5 miles) with the Metro Manila lining it on both sides. The Pasig River is an estuary as it has an open flow to the sea. The flow of its direction though depends on the difference of Laguna de Bay and Manila Bay’s water-levels.      In the past, the Spanish considered the Pasig River as an important route to Manila but because of the industrial development and years of negligence it has become stagnant. According to ecologists the river is no longer able to support or sustain life because of much pollution. But there are organizations such as the PRRC who are charged with implementing efforts to rehabilitate the river.     Generally the Ilog Pasig winds north and westward for twenty-five kilometers coming from the Laguna Bay towards Manila Bay. Before it enters Pasig City the river runs and passes the cities of Taguig and then the Taytay Rizal. From Pasig City the Ilog Pasig then forms a border between Pasig City and City with the Mandaluyong City located in the north border. Finally the river would turn towards the northeast where it then becomes a border between Manila and Mandaluyong after which it would then turn westward. In its final journey it flows into the San Juan River.      Before the negligence and the pollution, Ilog Pasig has been a very important source of livelihood for Manila. Before Manila was massively urbanized, the Pasig River was considered the lifeline of the city’s economic activity. It was along its banks that a number of prominent kingdoms were born in the Philippines. Some of these kingdoms are the Namayan, Tondo and Maynila which drew their life and income from the river. The Spanish’s arrival created changes in the river such as the establishment of Manila as capital to their possessions where Intramuros, the walled city was built on the south banks of Pasig River.     After the World War II, population grew dramatically along with the constructions of infrastructures. Also, economic activities were dispersed in the suburbs of Manila which resulted from the negligence of the river. As a result, informal settlers were attracted to the river’s banks along with factories who altogether would throw their wastes into the waters. Thus, the river transformed into a large sewer system. It is said that it was industrialization that polluted the Ilog Pasig.     But even so, the Ilog Pasig remains as a focal point for significant historical events and landmarks. It is on the southern banks that Intramuros was built. The Hospicio de San Jose which is a prominent orphanage is found in the River’s island of Convalescencia. Also in the northern part of its banks is where the Malacañan Palace, where the President officially resides was built and stands. Famous structures such as the Rockwell Commercial Center and Polytechnic University main campus are also found built near the banks of the Ilog Pasig. The river has served as the starting point of industrialization.

The Mount Mayon is a volcano that has an exact symmetrical cone. It is called the "perfect cone". The location of the volcano is at the province of Albay in Luzon. The perfect cone has an elevation of 8,081 ft with a prominence of 8,028 ft. As an active volcano its last eruption was on the year 2010. Mayon can be found at the tip or within the boundary of Legazpi City. In the year 2000 it was developed into a national park. It is also nicknamed as Bulkang Magayon after the legend of "Daragang Mayon".     The perfect cone of the volcano was formed by layers of lava flows and eruptions that it has gone through in the past years. It is included in the Pacific Ring of Fire like other volcanoes in the Pacific Ocean. The volcano is situated in the east side of Luzon with a position close to the Philippine Trench or the boundary wherein the Sea Plate is placed right under the Mobile Belt. When these plates collide with the oceanic plate it is driven down towards the Earth’s mantle. Magma enters and finds a way through exit points such as the Mount Mayon through those gaps in the crust created by the collision of plates.     For over 400 years Mayon Volcano has erupted 48 times. It is the most active volcano in the Philippines. Its most vicious eruption ever recorded was on February 1, 1814 when the volcano spitted black ashes continuously until it buried Cagsawa town. It is the most fatal explosion as its casualties rose to 2,200 Albay residents. There are theories that this explosion triggered the eruption in Mount Tambora the following year which led to the “Year Without Summer” of 1816.     As for the longest eruption without any interruption the Mayon volcano spitted fire for seven days starting on June 23, 1897. It erupted eastward so that Bacacay Village was buried 49ft under the lava. This eruption took 100 lives in Libon and another 400 from the other surrounding villages.     Fortunately in the 1984 eruption an estimated number of more than 70,000 people were evacuated from danger zones before the volcano erupted. There were low casualties also in the 1993 eruption compared to past eruptions as only 77 were killed most of which were farmers.     It was the same with the 2006 eruption which has no record of any loss of life. It is reported though that the said eruption was now weaker than the past. But some scientists still believe that the rumblings and activities that Mount Mayon is going through constantly from 2006 to 2011 are all part of a possibly more destructive eruption somewhere in the future.     Legends were offered by the people in an attempt to provide answers to the mysterious origin of Mayon. According to them there used to be a princess who had a very possessive uncle named Magayon. Men were so afraid to court the girl because of her uncle. One day a warrior got so obsessed with the princess. He was so much in love that he convinced her to go with him to a faraway place. With Magayon in pursuit the princess and the warrior prayed for help from the gods. Suddenly there came a landslide which buried Magayon alive. Local folks believe that it is Magayon's anger which bursts out from the Mount's cone.

Of all the popular places in the world, Japan seemed to hold the reputation of having bizarre things or practices that you could never imagine such as the proliferation of their porn industry. Unlike in the Philippines, pornography is actually punishable by law and has corresponding penalties. It has been strongly condemned not only by the government but as well as the society.     However, although Japan has been known for its strict adherence to its culture and tradition it seems ironic that they allow or they help in regulation of pornography within their people. Pornography is even considered as a legit and feasible business in Japan.      If you might be wondering how it became that way, it’s all because Japan is actually preserving its culture and they embraced the fact that pornography already existed together with their history. Just like ancient civilizations, pornography were already evident on their writings and drawings. By continuing the practice they were able to have in the form of comics or manga. Later on an anime or Hentai has been made to proliferate pornography and finally short video clips were created.     Although it seems legal in Japan, there are actually rules and provisions that the porn industries are currently following such as the censorship of the actor and actresses genitals. It is not limited to live action but as well as in anime and manga.

Nature is indeed full of wonders and humans have not really explored it totally. There are still things that are seemingly odd in nature and there are also some that are quite deceiving. Take for example this Emerald Green Cat that was discovered in a small town in Bulgaria.      The town people and even people from far cities are quite familiar with this seemingly odd creature because of its color. The cat has been spotted walking around the city, it gives the town people the impression that it is a stray and it only gets its food by roaming around the place.      Due to its distinct color and possible breakthrough in the feline world, people from far countries travelled to Bulgaria just to take a closer peek and even take some pictures of it. However, this cat’s stardom started to fade when rainstorms came. Its bright emerald green color slowly faded away when rain started to fall.      It has been found out that the cat got its color from a barrel of paint where it sleeps. Although paints contain toxins that are eventually not good for the health, the cat was actually in good shape all throughout its stardom. With its color fading away, its popularity indeed started to slow down, however its quite noticeable she enjoyed her moment and made the most of it by gaining extra pounds.
In the midst of a severe flood happening in Guangxi Zhuang an Autonomous Region in China, a seemingly smiling pig was rescued along with other animals. Netizens were quick to spot the candidness of the pig’s smile while being saved from the flood. The pig seemed calmed and happy that it was rescued and even smiled wonderfully despite being held on its forelegs and ears.      As a usual response by netizens, its picture have been shared a hundred times and made quick rounds in social media all over the world. People were cheering of how this creature just made their days and made them smile right after seeing its picture.     However this pig’s instant stardom was shown not only through likes and shares of her original photo but people did hilarious Photoshop skills to savor the moment. The following are just one of the few photos that instantly became people’s favorite.

When a wide audience seemed to use it even for just a short time, you should expect for others to try it too without really verifying its security measures.  SARAHAH Honesty App is supposedly an app that can be used in giving feedbacks anonymously. Seems like people nowadays are drawn into intriguing stuff more than ever. However accordingly the app works in such a way that the person who has been rated or given feedback has no way of tracing or replying to it. The creator of the app tend to give its users the chance to leave positive comments or feedbacks as an act of kindness while keeping their identity unknown.      However the entire community has been totally shocked (shookt) when it has been revealed that this app is actually unknowingly stealing your personal details such as your contact list. Aside from stealing, they make use of it by uploading it to their data base and who knows what they could do about it.      Once you installed this app, it will only take them a while to steal your info. Logging out from the app can't make any difference at all. The best thing to do is to never ever install it and be more cautious in choosing an app.
