When you don’t have sweet tooth it is hard to find snacks that can match your low tolerance for sugar. Almost all snacks were made out of sugar, chocolates and other forms of sweeteners. It is the main reason why Skittles stands out from the rest of the group. It is a sweet yet sour candy that comes in a bright rainbow colors. But all of a sudden Skittles became really dull and lost all that rainbow colors.

skittles

In an official stamen made by Skittles, they decided to have a different packaging for intended for the entire month of June. As practiced June is the month dedicated for the LGBT community. The LGBT community has the rainbow to represent them because they acknowledged that they are composed of different genders thus constitutes not just a single color but of different colors.

lgbt community

Since the Skittles and the LGBT community share the same kind of color representation, Skittles gladly gave way to the LGBT community. According to them, although the share the same symbol, one has to stand out and celebrate their existence and they give it whole heartedly to the LGBT group.

This is such a remarkable and thoughtful move for Skittles. Although they were branded and known because of their color, they were not afraid to give way to celebrate a significant event for some people. Consumers in return have shown appreciation to what the company did. Their customers admired their sensitive and immediate decision to honor the LGBT community.

Changing brand packaging is a bit risky when it comes to sales and market. Well known and established companies see to it that when they have to change or modify their packaging it needs to be somehow close to the previous design. It is because people shop out of familiarity. When you change your packaging into a totally different concept, chances are your consumers will not be able to recognize your products anymore.

However it is different with the case of Skittles. They dared to risk their sales and their brand in order to commemorate an event. With this making rounds in the internet, Skittles is rest assured that their customers would still remain loyal to them.

Several inspiring stories have been already shared a million times over the internet. And it’s great to have them regardless if they are scripted or not. However in a reality show where talents are being showcased, it is not always every day that you get to see someone who pursued to reach their dreams and eventually inspire a lot of people because of that perseverance. A singer who auditioned at America’s Got Talent show has just made history because of her very inspiring story.

mandy harvey audition agt

Mandy Harvey auditioned on AGT for the 2017 season. When she stepped on the stage, she was with her interpreter. It then turned out she was deaf. But the thing was she wasn’t deaf since birth but she lost her hearing when she was just 18 due to an illness. Despite that unfortunate event that happened to her life. She still tried to continue her passion in singing against all odds.

While she was on stage, she removed her shoes and stood barefoot. It was for a reason that she relies on vibration in order for her to stay in tune through feeling the beat and tempo of the music. It was the most amazing thing that has even happened on that particular show. People weren’t even ready to witness such a wonderful event. It was very inspiring and uplifting especially for those who are in difficult situation and are about to give up on their dreams.

When she started singing, people started to weep because of the message of the song and the how she managed to sing it the right and genuine emotion. She was such an inspiration and Simon Cowell delivered the Mandy Harvey to live performance by pressing the golden buzzer.

Millenials or those who were born on early 2000’s will never understand the kind of life that the batang 90’s were able to experience. It was fun and memorable because children on those days consume most of their time playing with other kids. Internet and gadgets weren’t there yet when the Batang 90’s were still on their growing up years. There are plenty of games that truly a certified batang 90’s will never forget. Here are some of those:

Patintero

patintero

This is quite common for almost all Filipino children living in both rural and urban areas. It has different versions on other places of the country yet the concept is still the same.

    Luksong Tinik

Luksong Baka
Although boys would often play this game because this is done by hopping or jumping over someone, there are girls who are champions on this.

    Teks

Teks

Gadgets were not yet present at that time, but Anime was already present. Kids are very much addicted to it and it is even the reason why they choose to go home early so they can watch it. To note, there was no internet so when you miss an episode you will never have the chance to watch it again, unless the station decided to replay it for some reason. Teks are usually have anime characters on it. And batang 90’s feel like their card or teks has the power of that character as well.

    Dampa

Dampa

Dampa is a game played with the use of rubberbands. Kids are even quite innovative then, because there are actually different hand techniques that you can use while playing. Your goal here is for you to have the rubber band pass through a certain light, using your bare hands.

    Spider Fighting (Lawa-Lawa)

spider game

This may appear as animal cruelty right now, but since Spiders belong to the family of insects, it’s quite hard to determine if a Batang 90’s has already committed a crime back then. It’s like a boxing for spiders. Two sipders will stay on a single stick and they will then eventually fight with each other. It was fun witnessing how a spider can actually produce an amount of silk from its mouth to strangle its prey.

    Chinese Garter

chinese garter

This game is quite common for girls rather than boys because of the nature of the game. It involves bending and flexing of legs in order to reach a certain level.

    Marbles

marble game

Marbles or Jolen for Filipino Kids, goes along with dampa and teks. Your goal is to have the marble shoot on a hole intended for it. The game also includes the player hitting the marble of his opponent at a certain distance.

Dogs are special creatures dearly loved by humans. Although all dogs are considered to be man’s best friend, there are varieties of dog breeds that hold different kinds of personalities. cute dogs

People would really want to watch prank videos because it shows the unscripted and natural responses of individuals who were put in a trap. Although it may appear unjust to the subject or the target it shows how biased one person could be to another. It is so satisfying to watch videos that slaps out the truth about judgmental people.  It feels so great to prove them wrong of their judgment and admit defeat afterwards.

One of the most remarkable prank videos that became internet’s favorite is.  The girl is actually a professional racer. Because of her physique nobody would ever think that she is a racer, thus she is the perfect girl for this job. In the video she appears to be a car dealer assigned in big cars such. It was absolutely a mismatch for her size which made her customers felt a bit superior to her.
When she asked her clients to test drive the cars it wasn’t just an ordinary drive and some of them have lost it until the end of the video.

Truly, one should never judge a book by its cover.

The girl who appeared in the video is actually Leona Chin. She is a Malaysian national and has been part of the racing industry for more than 10 years now. She was already popular as a female racer but she became more popular and even famous all throughout the world because of her participation in prank videos as a dumb sales girl. According to her interview she started to become really interested with cars, particularly in drifting since she was in high school. In order fulfill her wish to try drifting, she asked a friend who happens to be a professional drifter to teach her how to do it. Later on she was able to learn the techniques of drifting and endurance racing. She even said that she goes to watch racing competitions for her to gain insights on how it should be done.

leona chin madmax

In no time she was able to have a team of her own and participate in endurance racings in Malaysia. She became really famous because of her mad driving skills and she was considered to be the fastest among all female racers of her time. Leona Chin still dreams to compete internationally with the help of her fans and sponsors.

In the Philippines, women’s concept of achieving beauty evolved drastically on taking care of their eyebrows, hence we have this “Kilay is life” thing now. In all fairness to the Kilay community it is just now that the significance of the eyebrows have been realized. Nowadays much attention is given to the eyebrows and it did pressure some women to learn the basics of drawing their eyebrows. You can actually go out without any makeup on, as long as you have your eyebrows on fleek. But be sure to know first the perfect eyebrow shape for your face before anything else.

kilay is life

Although eyebrow shapes have been greatly influenced by different fashion trends, the goal is to choose or pick the shape that will go along with your face. The Korean eyebrows are quite endearing and it seems so natural and it even emits natural beauty. No wonder lots of women are becoming fan of Korean makeup or beauty, however although it is hard to accept not all women are suited to use the Korean eyebrow style.

The good thing is, you can still look good and fresh if you know how to tame your eyebrows and the very thing that you need to know first is your face shape and how your eyebrows can enhance it.

eyebrow shapes

•    Oval Shape – According to makeup artists, this shape is the easiest to manipulate. You don’t need to work too much for it to achieve its potential. Eyebrows for women with oval shape face can be of anything as long as it is not too dramatic. You can go for soft arch or a flat one.
•    Round Shape – Women with rounded faces must find ways to lessen the tendency of the face to look wider. You can go for soft arch but never the curve ones because it will only make your face a bit more round.
•    Square Shape – A face with a square shape is the most dramatic of all because of the prominence of the cheekbone and wide forehead. In order to soften this one must go for round eyebrows that are not that thick. The goal is to add a bit of elongation to the face.
•    Heart Shape – This shape is somewhat opposite to the round one because of its tendency to become pointed. In order to balance out the sharpness and to achieve a more calming look, choose eyebrows that

In this world where even singers like Rihanna write a song with the lyrics hollering, “Work, work, work, work, work”, it’s easy to note that you can’t live by in this world without going through the corporate jungle. Typically, after going through the doldrums of having an education, a person must then choose a career path… Whatever it may be, remember, that job will be your virtual life partner, so choose wisely. And what better way to base that decision off than that of your personality?

personality type

First off, let’s give you a head start in knowing what type you are… One of the best personality tests that you can take is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator which was largely influenced by Carl Jung, founder of analytical psychology. There are tons of psychology-based websites nowadays that can help you find your personality type. The site, Humanmetrics, covers this in great detail. I highly recommend you go to their site and take the test before reading on through this article. Of course, we don’t just change our careers solely on the results of a personality test, much less, those found on the Internet. But it never hurts to be knowledgeable, as they offer great suggestions and insight we never thought of. With knowledge comes power.

Coffee has been one of man’s greatest discoveries. It never fails to brighten us up first thing in the morning, and saves the day when we’re pooped out at work and just need a fixer-upper. Some would even go so far to say they can’t live without coffee (I second the motion, by the way. *wink*). Now imagine, your favorite everyday staple, not only gives you that extra boost, but helps you slim down? Too good to be true, right? Yet with modern day inventions proliferating by the minute, it’s no wonder such a brainchild is conceived. Most of these products promote a no-diet way of losing weight. But is it really safe? In any new venture, it is always safer to research beforehand, and with the advent of the Internet, there’s bound to be tons of users who have tried slimming coffee and posted about it. Here are a few effects that people with firsthand accounts have experienced with slimming coffee and the reasons why (according to health authorities):

    POSITIVE HEALTH BENEFITS
1.    Suppressed hunger
Most users report of being less hungry. This is the very first thing people experience. Appetite control will then be fairly easy. This trait is most likely the product’s greatest effect in helping you lose weight.
2.    No Artificial Ingredients

organic coffee

This accounts to users saying the coffee is almost close to tasteless. This is accounted to the fact that most of these products allegedly say they use pure natural plant extracts.

3.    No Sugar
Hurray for diabetics! But due to its lack of flavor, some users opt in mixing the product with regular coffee like 3-in-1s.
4.    Natural Fibers for Less Fat Absorption
Because of this, the product boosts lipolysis or speeds up the breakdown of fats and other lipids.
5.    Increased Bowel Movement
Good for people who are suffering from constipation, at the very least.

NEGATIVE EFFECTS (BASED ON USER FEEDBACK AND HEALTH AUTHORITIES)
1.    Wakefulness and Sleeping Difficulties

no sleep due to coffee
A lot of users have testified the coffee being too strong, finding it hard to sleep, some even saying up to 26 hours. Others only have 4-5 hours of sleep. Insomnia is never a good thing.

2.    Shortness of Breath

3.    Thirstiness

4.    Dizziness

5.    Increased Risk of Heart Attack and Stroke
Slimming coffee have been known to use sibutramine, which had been used to treat obesity, but disallowed in usage due to its effect of increasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases like stroke.

6.    Increased Risk for Cancer

cancer symptoms
These products may also have Phenolphthalein, which is a chemical compound used in laxatives (hence, the increased bowel movement), but are no longer authorized because it may cause cancer.

Overall, the cons definitely outweigh the pro for this technological wonder. I guess it would be better to stick to the basics if you’re after weight loss and let coffee be what it is – an energy booster, and leave the slimming process to good old fashioned exercise and proper diet. It’s always a good thing to develop good habits and slimming coffee is just another way for our generation to become lazy. Also there are other ways and products you can use to mimic the slimming coffee’s amazing ability to suppress hunger. Some things are just too good to be true then.

In the world of finance, there are two kinds of people: the ants and the grasshoppers. As kids, we’ve grown up hearing this story of the ant and the grasshopper, where the ant works to the bone in summer time just to save for the winter, and the grasshopper just enjoy the summer breeze, hopping and chirping without a care in the world. Come winter time, the grasshopper is left in the cold, dying of hunger, while the ant reaps safety and stability in time of need. This has been a sad tale in our childhood years, yet little did we know the moral of this story could greatly help us in our grownup years.

Like the ant, there are people who are born thrifty and industrious, those who are gifted in the art of saving money. Others, like the grasshopper, may try to save a coin or two, only to succumb moments later when something catches their eye. If we don’t want to have the same fate as the unwise grasshopper, how do we save money effectively enough? Now, no amount of ideas can be the exact method. Each person differs in strategy so just pick the ones below that fit your lifestyle. Here are some basic ideas on how to become a nifty thrifty ant-human:

piggy bank savings

1.    Write down how much you earn and spend in a period of time (like in a month or week).
You know how health-conscious people tend to count the calories they take in everyday and strive to only eat the kind of food that they really need? Same concept applies to your savings. Write down your income and jot down your expenses as well. This way, you get to track down where your money is going.

2.    Small expenses should be treated like big ones too.
Don’t underestimate small things; they all start out small, you know. That’s why as much as possible, pick out the things you think you can live without. Learn to weigh the things you consider are important to you and the things you think are unneeded.

3.    Split your expenses into 4 categories.
•    Cost of Living – bills for rent, water, electricity
•    Everyday Budget – jeep fare, food, etc.
•    Wants – new clothes, gadgets, eating out, travel, etc.
•    Savings - Lastly, how much you want to save after all that.

4.    Make SMART goals.

smart goal

This could be short-term or long-term:
•    Short-term goals could be a new gadget, minor home improvements, vacation, etc. These could last from 1-3 years.
•    Long-term goals could be for retirement, a new home, college fees, etc. These are goals good for 4 years and above.

5.    Having a Rainy Day Fund is fun.
Set up a rainy day fund (like our ant from that story), by saving at least 3 months’ worth of everyday expenses. Expect the unexpected! Having a backup or reserve is always a good idea.

6.    Get rid of any debts.
It can be such a pain if you’re placed in a deadly, I mean, “debtly” situation. As much as possible, stay away from borrowing money, and if you have to, make sure to pay it there and then. The sooner you do away with it, the better and more you can save money.

7.    Pay in cash. Don’t use credit.
This way, you’ll avoid #6 altogether. Be sure to have cash-on-hand; cash that you’re willing to spend and won’t hurt your savings.

8.    Don’t do “retail therapy”.

wasting money on non sensible things

Some people, when down on their lumps, resort to comfort eating to ease the emotional strain they’re going through. Other people shop till they drop in order to clear their troubled minds. Don’t be like that. You’re not in the right head to make wise decisions yet and may spend more than you really need.

9.    Do homemade meals more frequently; only seldom eat out. Reuse the leftovers.
You can save a whole lot more if you cook at home. Also, don’t waste food. Leftovers can last for days if you’re careful enough.

10.    Don’t buy clothes you don’t normally wear.
“I’ve got nothing to wear!” says the girl who has a closet full of clothes… That just means we’re spending more than we really need to. And if you want to be able to put a few more coins, I suggest you buy clothes that are versatile and ones that you would most likely wear a lot. And for your old clothes, you could try selling them, which would mean more money for Mister Piggybank. Yippee!

Although there are no official statements yet from globe telecom about them putting an end to their free Facebook promo on mobile data, people seemed to figure out quickly. When this promo started, people got the chance to enjoy using Facebook without spending anything for it. It is in all honesty free for its users. However who is actually funding this free subscription promo and why are they stopping it all of a sudden?

free facebook from globe telecom

In 2013, globe launched its free Facebook for mobile data users. This was their best move considering that a growing number of users were already using smartphones rather than desktops or laptops. They wanted to be part of the convenience of having everything on your mobile device. And it was indeed a success because they were able to reach 140% of revenue growth a year after they launched the promo. They have even mentioned that free Facebook under globe telecom will forever stay as long as it gives them stable revenue.

But who is actually funding this promo? According to globe telecom, they are paying for the total cost of the bandwidth consumed by the free Facebook users. Although it may seemed like they are giving it for free, they were convinced that they are still making profit out of it. This could happen since a user will be charged right away once he or she goes out of the app by clicking a certain link.

mark zuckerberg

The number of smartphone users at this moment is still increasing, but why is it that globe decided to retract its free Facebook promo, when more users would mean more growth in their revenue? Although they claimed that they are alone paying for the bandwidth of their users, this seems to be different in other network providers in different countries who decided to team up with the owner of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. It is actually the owner of Facebook himself who shoulders the cost of the bandwidth in order to provide free access for its users and in return gain more number of users and more profit for his team.

Almost all websites that you can find in the internet rely on advertisers for monetary gain. If you have been fond of watching videos in Facebook you will notice ads being inserted in the middle of some videos, this is actually how Facebook makes money. But with globe’s free Facebook promo, you can barely view a picture and how much more for a video? The only thing that works on free Facebook is its messenger, but unlike the Facebook app, it does not contain ads.

Water: The one element planet Earth has that sets it apart from all the other planets in our system. This is also the reason why only our planet is able to sustain life, its surface covered with 71 percent water. The human body itself is roughly made up of 60% water; essentially more than half of our being is H2O, which is why it is so vital for us to keep hydrated. A person can survive up to a proverbial 40 days without food, but would be a goner in a week’s time without water.      The question is how much water is enough on a daily basis? Most people have grown up using the 8x8 rule, or in layman’s term, drinking eight (ounce) glasses of water per day, which would be half a gallon or about 2 liters. The funny thing is there’s not much evidence to back this myth up except it’s just easy to remember. In reality, you have to note that the actual amount depends on a lot of factors like age, weight, gender, how physically active you are, the weather, etc.     Studies have shown that the average adult male will need 3.7 liters of fluids per day, while females need 2.7 liters. Children and teens would be: 1 liter (5 glasses) for 5-8 year olds, 1.5 liters (7 glasses) for 9-12 year olds, and 2 liters (8 to 10 glasses) for 13+ years.      Another good question to ask is how can you tell if you’re drinking enough water? Simple: check your urine. If you’re not drinking enough, your urine will look yellowish or have an orange color. The best indication is when it has a clear or pale yellow color. Soft bowel movements are a good sign too.     Note that you don’t really have to wait feeling thirsty to drink. Your body is constantly using up water and thirst is your body’s way of telling you that you’re becoming dehydrated. The good thing is all forms of fluid you take in counts. This includes milk, juice, tea, and even coffee, though water is still the best. Fruits and vegetables are a great source too. That said, don’t drink while you’re taking a meal or munching on snacks. It can be tempting but doing so may cause bloating and indigestion, as the water will counteract with the digesting enzymes your body is producing. The best time to drink would be 15-30 minutes prior or after a meal.     No matter how busy you get, don’t ever forget to refill, no matter what the means. Keep a water bottle handy to remind you. Never underestimate a simple glass of water to charge up for the whole day. A healthier you is a better you.
Ever heard of the quote, “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper”? Though most of us would think it’s just an easy quote to remind us how we should eat everyday but strange enough, this proverb actually has scientific proof backing it up, especially the breakfast part. It’s not called “breakfast” for nothing; it essentially means you’re breaking the fast that you went through when you’ve gone to sleep. It’s what wakes your body up, significantly comprises a great portion of your day’s energy supply, nutrient intake, concentration and performance, and overall mood. Basically, your breakfast can make or break you for the rest of the day.       As they say, “you are what you eat”; this applies especially during the first meal of the day. That said; don’t eat breakfast just for the sake of eating breakfast. What you eat is also the most crucial part to remember. You’re better off NOT eating breakfast at all compared to eating an unhealthy one. So if you’re going to eat, eat a healthy breakfast compared to those common sugary ones (like doughnuts, pancakes, waffles, muffins, even fruit juices). Eating these may be easier and tempting as they give you that highly sought after jolt of energy, but that sudden spike will just as easily drop down and leave you tired, cranky and even hungrier than before. Why is that, you may ask? Food high in sugar and low in protein are easily digested. In fact, you could actually control your appetite if you eat first thing in the morning.      Studies have shown breakfast eaters are leaner and gain less weight compared to their non-breakfast-eating counterpart. This is because your hunger will dramatically curb for the rest of the day. You thought skipping those few calories in the morning is going to help you? Guess again. People come in all shapes and sizes, even down to our faces. The right frame for the right face shape can dramatically change your whole look. How will you know what your face shape is? Easy! Just go in front of a mirror and use an erasable marker to trace the outline of your reflection.       There are 7 basic face shapes, each having different features that would help you narrow down on your choice. It’s all about balance. Find frames that are opposite to your face shape, frames that don’t accentuate your shape but help enhance it. Here are a few tips to remember:     a.    Oval – Lucky you! They say this is the best shape to work on because of its natural symmetry and balance. You can literally wear any style with ease and confidence. TRY: Any Style & Wide frames. Play around with different frames that will suit your personality. Just aim for a frame width that’s just enough to match the widest part of your face. AVOID: Too Small or Short frames.     b.    Round – Most people with round faces tend to look cute and youthful, with its proportional width and length, full cheeks and a soft chin line and forehead. TRY: Small, Square, Angular frames. Always go for opposite shapes so as not to exaggerate your face shape but help give balance. Rectangular frames can make your face appear longer and thinner. AVOID: Rimless, Circular Glasses.     c.    Square – With a strong jaw, broad forehead, proportional in width and length, this type of face is highly fashionable as you can experiment with round frames like the legendary Harry Potter. TRY: Soft, Oval or Circular Frames. These help soften the angles of your face. Also, glasses that can sit on the bridge of your nose will help lengthen it. AVOID: Boxy Frames.     d.    Diamond – narrow forehead and jaw line, with wide or high cheekbones; you’re like the opposite of the round face. TRY: Rimless, Cat-eye or Oval Glasses. Round frames help soften the angles and contour of your face. Plus you get to play around with cat-eyes as they sweep up your face and help emphasize the assets of your face like the cheekbones.  AVOID: Boxy, Wide Frames. Best stay away from frames that could widen your cheeks more.     e.    Oblong – More like an elongated version of the oval. Your face would be longer than it is wide. TRY: Round or Square, Oversized Wide Frames. Like the oval, you can still rock almost any style you want! But make sure that they’re wider than your face and give it more depth. Low-bridged ones can help shorten your nose. AVOID:     Too Small or Short.     f.    Rectangular – The length of an oblong but with a strong hot-looking jaw line. TRY: Curvy, Oval Glasses, Oversized Wide Frames. The wider they are, the more flattering. AVOID: Rectangle Glasses.     g.    Heart (Base-up) or Triangle (Base-down) – This shape can either have a wide forehead but cute and delicate jaw or the opposite. TRY: Rimless Glasses (for hearts), Cat-eyes (for triangles). You’d look beautiful in thin, light-metal or clear plastic frames as these help balance your forehead. Cat eyes also help sweep it up for triangles. AVOID: Bold, Over-embellished frames.
Menstruation is a magical thing which is essential for the preservation of humanity. A regular menstruation indicates a healthy reproductive organ. Although menstruation is the result of an unfertilized egg, it is still important for it to take its part and play its role on the woman’s cycle. The number of days of having a period actually depends on a woman’s body, genetics and lifestyle. It usually lasts for 3 – 7 days, however there are some women who have shorter periods compared to others and it’s actually normal.      The blood that comes out during menstruation is a different from the blood that circulates around the body. This blood is the result of shedding in the lining of the uterus, where the fertilized egg should stay. However since no fertilization took place, the uterus gets rid of its lining resulting to menstruation and this cycle happens every 28 days, unless a successful fertilization of the egg takes place. Aside from the number of days and considering where menstruation came from, it is also important to take note of the color of your blood during menstruation because it is capable of telling you on what is going on down there.     Here are the different colors of blood that usually come out all throughout the menstruation process. 1.    Dark Red to Brown – this usually comes out during the first day or the onset of your period. The dark color is actually an old blood that was possibly left from the previous cycle. Or it could be that it took sometime before the blood was able to come out. This color is normal and there’s nothing to worry about. 2.    Light pink to Bright Red – there are instances that this color might also come out during the first day of menstruation. It is fresh blood and it is by far the indicator of the healthiest menstrual cycle. 3.    Bright Red to Dark Red – this is often considered as the bloodiest of all. This usually occurs during heavy flows and on the second to third day of menstruation. The dark color is caused by the shedding of the thickest part of the uterine wall. Although it may appear horrible it is still on a normal scale.  4.    Gray to Dark – this is the last thing that you would want to see in your tampons of napkins when you have your menstrual flow. This indicates infection or that something wrong is happening inside. If you are expecting for a baby and this comes out, this could also suggest miscarriage. If you happen to experience this, you better visit your gynecologist right away.

Birth order has been known to have a significant influence on a person’s personality. In fact a prominent and well known psychologist coined the theory about birth order. It was Alfred Adler’s work that lead other psychologists to consider how such event can partly affect and help in predicting a person’s overall personality.     In his theory of birth order however, a specific position have shown great crisis in terms of dealing with the demands of that particular order. The middle child is considered to be someone who is in between the eldest and the youngest child being born. The middle child has an elder sibling to compete with in terms of achievement and trust from parents, as well as control over the other siblings. At the same time the middle child needs to face the unfortunate reality that although he or she had enjoyed a moment of being the youngest it did not last long prior to the birth of a sibling. Now the youngest child enjoys all the attention and care that was supposedly given to the middle child.     It is quite a difficult task to stay on the middle. The eldest becomes busy with responsibilities entrusted by the parents, thus the eldest won’t mind not being their parents’ favorite because he or she was given a task or responsibility that needs to be fulfilled. In a way, the eldest child feels empowerment and develops control over his or her younger siblings. As a result, a middle child develop unique character traits in order to cope with the crisis of being caught in the middle. Commonly, they become secretive in nature. They naturally have high trust issues. The always strive to please everybody so that they can be noticed by their parents.      By staying in the middle, the child becomes a good mediator. After all it is an advantage to be on the both sides. It is like being the best of both worlds. The term middle child syndrome was a sort of adaptation to the crisis that child who falls under that particular order has to face. It’s considered a syndrome for some because most of the time middle kids have the same sentiments with one another.      Although Alfred Adler’s theory were postulated years ago it is still present up to this point. Certain modern psychologists have adopted his concept of birth order and how it pays a crucial role in the development of one’s personality.
If you are reading this then you are most likely a middle child who is looking for confirmation that you really feel special because of your controversial birth order. Although less attention is given to middle children during child rearing, middle children became an interesting target for research because of their complicated situation. Children who were born on such order have great qualities especially when it comes to coping and socialization. But what are the most common traits that makes up a middle child? Here is the list: 1.    A part of you will always feel that nobody cares about you – it is the most fundamental feeling that the middle children share. It starts when you just don’t know who or what you should be. The parents are busy making your older sibling responsible and at the same time they are busy looking after and enjoying your younger sibling.  2.    You were used to being alone but you are not even sad about it – although not all middle children are introverts, there is a strong force that pushes a middle child to enjoy a moment of himself or herself to meditate or to think of plans especially when a decision has to be made.  3.     You talk to yourself vocally – although it wasn’t intentional, most middle kids were not given the chance to voice out their opinion because it is the job of the older sibling and such decisions are actually made for the benefit of the youngest child. In a way, middle children have been used to voice out their thoughts to their selves alone. They do it because they actually value listening to opinion since they weren’t given that chance when they were young. 4.     You always think that you are not your parents’ favorite – parental biases will always take place no matter how many times parents say that they don’t have favoritism among their children. Meanwhile, the middles would voluntarily take the place of not being the favorite child or the less appreciated one because they have been used to sacrifice  ever since they became a middle child. 5.    It always comes to you to consider other people’s feelings before you make any decision – although this may sound too kind this is actually true for almost all middle kids. Since they were used to get caught in the middle they learned how it feels to be on top of someone and at the same time find themselves in the bottom.  6.     You feel a bit distant and secretive to your own family – this is a thing that only middle children could understand. It may sound rebellious but it is not. Since they were used being left behind or that their opinions don’t really matter at all, they become cautious in opening up or trusting a family member.
The primary instincts of humans is to survive. However aside from the goal of surviving humans are also born to appreciate art. Although art may seem not a necessity because a human being can survive without it, art is something that makes a person able to survive while staying sane. Art is not limited to paintings or drawings, music is considered as an art and even language. Humans are born to be artistic creatures and it is exciting to know that art is limitless and it can never be stopped. It is immortal and it will always be. One of the ultimate representation of art is having a tattoo. But is tattoo a form or art and expression or it is just a form of style?     Getting inked isn’t simple as it seems. Your body will become the perfect canvas for this art, thus it is important to carefully think about your purpose and the design that you wished to have. Also the pain while getting inked is not a joke. And, tattoo artists need to be very precise when they are doing their job. It is why tattoo artists deserve such high respect among other artists.      While many people could not understand why some would want to “stain” their bodies like they always think of, having a tattoo constitute to something deeper than just a fashion statement. It is quite hard to be judged once you have tattoos in your body. The society has this idea that once you have one in your body you are either an ex-convict, drug addict, a member of a gang, a prostitute and so much more. People with tattoos were even branded not to have good jobs. Tattoos are often objectified as a good for nothing art.      Having a tattoo is not equivalent to committing a crime but some people don’t make any distinction to it. People should then realize that art can take different forms, if they learned to appreciate music then tattoos deserve that chance too.      People who would want to get inked are ordinary people with bigger appreciation for art. They are the ones who are not afraid to be judged by other people. They are not ashamed of expressing who they are and they are proud of having it inked on their bodies. Having a tattoo does not mean you are destroying your body. How come it become destructive when it is in fact what your heart desires?
There are several ways to determine a person’s capability. A person can be judged through educational attainment, amount of salary or savings that that person has and many more. But a person’s personality is something which makes that particular person different from any other. In general personality is the overall qualities of a person. It includes his or her coping mechanisms, attitude to a particular situation, beliefs, aspiration, his or her character and even temperament. But how does a person’s personality develop? Is it something inborn, or is personality made? According to Psychology there are several things that can affect and are responsible in shaping a person’s personality such as birth order.      The relevance of birth order to personality was first proposed by Alfred Adler. According to him, birth order determines or guides a person’s personality because of a made up expectation to a child even before he or she learns to behave on things. Children are already expected to behave into a particular list things because it has been the norm of the society.     The birth order theory includes the first born, second born, middle, and the last born or as the only child. According to Adler the following are the shaped personalities according to birth order:     First Born – Tends to become achievers, controlling, and reliable, independent, perfectionist, structured and cautious. These traits are often associated with child rearing, since the first born are always entrusted or tasked to look after their younger siblings. And as the first born grows older, it will play a huge part in the development of personality.     Middle Child – We often hear about middle child syndrome which describes the crisis of being in between an older and a younger sibling. The birth order triggers the middle child to feel less wanted because the first born is entrusted with the responsibility and then the youngest becomes the favorite. Middle children tend to become secretive, short tempered, and prone to become rebellious but are good when it comes to socializing with other people.      Youngest – The youngest child in the family is considered to be the favorite of all. Although parents would try to give equal treatment to their children, it is the youngest child who will get all the attention and care. With the abundance of love and attention the youngest kids can become manipulative, self-centered, dependent, attention seeker but at the same time they are outgoing, they are good in dealing emotions and are often relaxed.
